The Energy Opportunities strategies began in October 2000 as a joint venture between two specialized firms, Simmons & Company International (a leading investment banking firm serving the energy industry and established in 1974) and Orleans Capital Management (a privately held investment advisor serving the pension, endowment and trust markets and established in 1991). The portfolio managers came out of these organizations, bringing a wealth of investment experience and energy knowledge to the implementation of the Energy Opportunities strategies. Moreover, EOCM remains closely linked to its Member organizations, drawing on the expertise within them.
